mark the nut and the pinion with a center punch , then replace the seal and retighten it to the same spot , done ! This is exactly what I did on my 1500. No issues so far, 50k later. It was starting to leave puddles in the driveway.

I would be careful, I suspect that the later Danas may use a crush sleeve
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

Why do 1994+ Rams have more than average pinion seal, pre-load, and pinion bearing problems?
Did prior years use another seal supplier, perhaps from a USA based supplier?
Is the internal diameter fit of the seal off spec or out of round, or the external surface on which the seal rubs off spec, rough, too soft?
Is a change of lube chemistry attacking the lip material?
On the 9.25 i have long suspected the crush sleeve keeps slowly shortening and ruining the preload, which ruins the pinion bearings, which creates the slop that ruins the seal.
But Dana problems indicate there may be a Ram design common flaw affecting both diffs ?
