I have the three pin safety switch and I'm using a early 727 that used the single pin. can i use the shift lever from the later model and use this in the earlier 727?

for visual -see pics-i have the one on the right- and the transmission has the one in the middle.

The '69-'70 lever will directly interchange on the '66-'68 VB but the '71-later lever won't.

The lever on the far right in your (actually my) pic is '71-later and has the short "ear" on the right of the roostercomb. The '69-'70 lever has the long ear like the middle lever.

The pic isn't copyrighted, it's free for anybody to use.

Best thing to do is find a '69-'70 lever or the whole VB.
