So my existing belts have a date of 05-15 so these belts are good until 05-17 correct?

Comes to about 139 with shipping to re-cert so i might just purchase new belts but the window net need to be replaced and that is a custom fit.

I have never seen anyone check a window net at any track I have been to.

Window nets no longer require update. NHRA dropped the recert.

hmmmm then why do they still re-cert them at RJS Racing?

A ribbon-type or SFI 27.1 mesh-type window net is mandatory for any
full-bodied car running 7.50 (*4.50) to 9.99 (*6.39) or if vehicle runs
135 mph or faster. See General Regulations 6:3

found this in the 2017 rule book.

Granted I am keeping car at 10.0 so i would guess i don't even need a net at this point.

In all my years of racing I have only ever had the track tech guy check my belts for the date on them once. I got new belts in 2012 and only raced twice before they went out of date. The last time I raced last year they were still in the car and the tech guy did not look at anything at all on my car. Ron

well I won't take the chance on belts both Columbus and Norwalk have never missed checking dates on belts they even look at grounds on fuel cell and chassis cert. The net I think I can forget about as long as I keep it at 10.0

I dont blame you as I dont race alot but it sounds like you do and if you know they are going to check them then I would do as you are doing. Myself I only race once or twice a year so I dont get many passes before my belts go out of date. I really wish they would push it to 5 years. Even though my car is mostly a street driven car its in the garage when I am not driving it so I really dont see no reason they could not push belts to every 5 years. Ron

I also think the 2 year rule is a little crazy I am similar except this car is strictly race no street and sits in a garage while not racing so i get 30 to 40 runs in two years and my belts are worn out.... I think not.

yet, unless i'm totally out in left field, OE 45 year belts are ok to x.xx [?] et, and newer stuff to a lower et ? why aren't those mandatory to be changed out ? then, there are some tracks that allow aftermarket belts that are out of date to run to x.xx et, and some toss you out if you have aftermarket belts and only run 15.00 and slower. i know safety is a paramount concern, but if military aircraft can go way more years than a 10.00 car before a change out, and fast dirt cars the same, there is no reason for nhra to mandate a two year rule on belts except money being involved.
