Unsure of the headers as I've never run a SB in one.

Use the Schumacher/Imperial Services trans mount and the later 727 bolts in to the older crossmember.

Thanks for the reply il hafta check into that mount.. I've never been around a early b body with a SB either so it's kinda foreign to me. Only reason I figured I would use a SB is because I have a 360 and trans ready to go from a duster I had.. I have the set of headers still from the duster and almost wonder if they would maybe fit hate to spend money on a expensive set if I can use what I have

For headers look up the ones for a 65 since it had the 273, I'll have to check but I don't think there is and difference in trans case mounts. I use the later trans in mine with the 440 engine and it bolted up. What type shifter? I have the TA bolted to floor. Factory shifter, figure on a bit of fabrication. Best case, use the 65 slip yoke trans with the push buttons

Probably going to be using some type of a ratchet shifter my buddy has a Hurst promatic that might end up in it.. I really do like the old pushbutton trans but the one I got from my duster is freshly rebuilt with a manual valve body so if I can make it work out I will for now.. I know I can use later headers if I swap out to the later k frame but I don't really want to go that route.. I seen a 64 at my local track last year with a 360 in it wish I would asked the guy a few questions about it now lol

As I recall there was a specific set of headers for early b's unless you put the 67 and later k frame in.
The shift of where the engine sits prevents you from using the later headers.

Just checked my trans, they are different by 2 inches, later is farther back from engine. I'm not sure what trans X member was on there, the mount that's still on trans is the 64 with two studs on the bottom. I rounded up 7 X members, now I'll find the one that I used.
