I have a set of old Isky iron rockers here and the shafts they came with look like stock shafts, I'm thinking of using a pair of Harland Sharp shafts I have spare just wondering if its going to cause any issues?

HS shafts have a hard chrome surface because they use roller bearings in their rockers. I seem to recall rollers don't like plain steel shafts and non-roller rockers don't like hard chrome shafts. When I had those Isky rockers I used TRW shafts which were a stock replacement BUT are thicker and stronger with a polished finish. What you really want is a shaft that's going to stay round - unlike the stockers that went oval when you torqued them down. HS's are expensive. See if TRWs are still available or something like Hughes maybe.

Have bronze bushings installed and the rocker arms blueprinted. They will work better with the hardened shafts.

There was a place called Rocker Arm Specialties. I don't know the name any more. They can bush your rockers if you want, change the ratio a bit (IIRC) and probably have shafts in stock.

You'll have to google it as I think the name has changed.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

If your going to buy new rocker arm shafts buy the ones you need directly from Isky twocents Or buy a set of his special made H.D. banana grooved shafts for those ductile iron rocker arms from Gary at RAS,530-242-1316 twocents

Their name the last time I checked was Rocker Arms Unlimited. I had a set of Isky's done by them a few years ago but, I'd heard the company changed hands again since then.

They narrowed each rocker arm, bored and bushed them and provided all new hardware, shafts and hold downs. I think I paid a little over $500.

They are a work of art and are set up, spaced and ready to bolt on but, be prepared to wait. I was quoted a 2-3 week turn around time but, it was more like 3-4 months.

I'd use them again but, just not for anything I needed quickly.

I believe the name of the original owner who came back to the new company is Gary. He answers the phone; give them a call.
