1963-1974 B,& E body Chrysler front disc brake conversion.. . This is a 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern rotor.

This kit includes the following.

2- new drilled and slotted rotors

2- new calipers with semi metallic pads and correct mounting hardware

2- new spindles loaded with caliper mounting hardware and dust shields.

2- new rubber brake hoses

1- new bearing and seal kit.
anybody ever used this kit? bolt on conversion? any other parts needed?
i deleted the a-body reference out of the ad as it does not pertain to my question

I just bought a kit from Doctor Diff, have not installed it yet but everything I need is there and I can keep the sway bar and still run the stock 14" wheels. I getting rid of the factory 4 piston Bendix setup. I will be keeping the booster and master cylinder, prop valve, etc. Check out what he has to offer, his website is very user friendly in helping decide what you need/want.

The small bolt pattern A bodys require different uppers. Not 100 % sure on lowers but I believe they need them also.It oooks like a later a body kit.if it is they work good.i used tall spindles on my 65 and prefer them to the shorter
A body spindles.Rocky

Would need a different upper control arm or the Dr. Diff spacer unless the knuckle is sized for the smaller ball joint.

the lower arm is the same , the difference is the ball joint which has the same size stud for all a bodies and all brake sizes.

Looks like a factory late model A body setup so it should work just fine on '62 to '72 B body cars. Might want to double check to see what the piston size is on the calipers and you'll want the calipers to hang to the front in order to get the hose routing correct. Should clear just fine unless you've retrofitted a sway bar on to the car.

I'd be curious as to where the rotors are sourced from and if they cross to something you can buy at the local parts store , same for the calipers , nothing I hate worse than one off special parts that are $$$ and impossible to replace.

Lot has been said on disc brake conversions . . . SO there is my two cents worth . . . I have used F,M,J body spindles, calipers, etc . . . on two different cars (one a C body, and one a B body) . . . fit perfect - just needed a washer on the lower balls joint to spindle bolts. Used the rear mount and PROPER calipers (believe they are mid 80's 5th Ave. calipers, with the bleed screw in upper location), stainless steel hoses from Dr. Diff, and voila . . . (of course new master cylinder) . . . both cars stop perfect, no issues on alignment or bump steer, etc . . . .

If you don't want to search for all separate parts, go to Dr. Diff. Knowledgeable, and reasonable and you will be happy with the service.

Cheers,

M

I have found that doctor diff has the most knowledge and fair prices. I buy as much stuff from him as I can. No worries that way.

You can buy slotted/drilled rotors separate on ebay. I like to get factory spindles and caliper brackets and buy the rest new. I put a disc kit on a roadrunner a few years back and ended up getting a notice about the spindles breaking. Probably just a small run, but remember this stuffs all made in China cheaply.
