I'd sure like some input on this from anyone who has bought/seen/used both? Got an old 71 Grand Coupe that lost it's 318 long ago,but came with lots of new parts, and a good Cuda hood, valance etc.
Car has been blasted and etch primed, is now getting bodyworked.
I see Goodmarks @ $399 plus freight each, my local AMD fellow
offered AMDs for $600 each delivered.
The old fenders are halfway decent, but I see no point in messing with them as A) I want the gilled look, and B) someone might really be able to use these to fix a Cuda sometime.
Also debating on the repop grille.Vans auto is like $680 free freight, my old one is beat.
Thoughts?

I'm 55 now, no time to waste. Not a week goes by that I don't hear about someone passing on.Let's get out there, smoke some tires, have a beer with a good friend,do what you have always wanted to do.I am pretty sure no one will ever say on their deathbed "gee I'm glad my life was calm and boring"

I buy a lot of goodmark from rockauto and it all has been good fitting parts, metal is plenty thick too. I can't speak for those exact fenders though. Everyone here seems to love amd... and of course a lot of people sell it on here too. Worth 400 more for a pair? I doubt it, but to each their own.

We have used both AMD and Goodmark 70 and 71 fenders. The Goodmarks had fit issues at the top front door gaps as were the AMDs did not. At least the ones we had.
I've also used several repro grills, again both 70 and 71. On the 71 use your original 6 "C" moldings as they will fit better than the repros.
Jeff at 521 Restorations usually has a good price on 71 grills and AMD stuff.

My friend and I test fit the AMD 71 Cuda fenders atleast fifteen plus times on my 71 Cuda. AMD took our recommended changes, and retooled them until they fit nice.

Just got back from T-Giving #2 with Son and Gal in Bellingham,

Thsnks much for the info Silver70,Moparmarks, and Chargervert!
This is good intel.Hard to pony up the funds for new fenders and gills,, but if this works out this car will be crossed off the bucket list for 2/3 the cost of buying one "done". Great to see the body starting completely bare metal and coming up from there.

Was that car tawny with a white interior changed over to black, and a black capped dash? I sent a 71 out to Montana in the early 2000s and I have windered if the guy ever built it or not. Have an rv 440 in it. I added an x pipe exhaust with cuda tips while i had it.

I want my fair share

Sorry this languished for over a month. This was a tawny gold GC and appears to be original completely hashed black dash with tan (ugh) faded SE interior.I know my buddy Shawn bought it off a car lot maybe a decade ago as a driver, decent, with a 340 steel crank 727 and cuda tips. The grime was super deep and the motor ran excellent,
but there was a LOT of timing chain play and he is kind of a bro-canic ie no trans bolt mounts, filthy oil, filthy motor, used the gull wing on his 71 mustang, left huge holes in the decklid,
kickdown linkage barely there etc.Car even had the 318 exhaust manifolds so the welded duals could still be used on the 340...

If the existing fenders are good, why not patch in the gill part? That's what I did on my '71 Barracuda. Not that difficult.
