My 73 has the stock front bumper brackets slid back and 72 rear bumper brackets. The bumpers are replaced with those which have no slots.

I don't think they are all the same. The bumpers stuck out farther on the 72-74 with a filler strip in between. I believe the 74 had a shock absorber (5mph)situation.

The BUMPERS are the same except for maybe the bolt holes for the bumperettes in 73-74. The BRACKETS, I don't believe are the same. Mines a 72 and has the stock rear bumper on custom brackets so that it fits close to the car. This is a 74 with the bumperettes. Picture taken in 1979 I think. This my 72 with the stock bumper moved close to the car.

The 72 rear bracket pulls the bumper in like the 70-71. Mine still has the original 73 front brackets that were on the car when it was stock. The rear bumperets fit as well. Everything fits. I also put a 70 grille in it. But that takes a bit of fab work.

The 70-72 bumper brackets are the same. 70-72 bumpers have the same profile but in late 71, they added the jack slots.

73 rear bumper brackets are a one year only deal. They look like the Cuda style brackets. They are a stamped metal part...not just bar stock.

74 rear bumper brackets are a one year only deal. They went back to a bar stock bracket.

I believe(not100%)that 73 and 74 front brackets are the same.

73 and 74 bumpers have a different profile then 70-72. Try mounting a 73-74 bumper guard on a 70-72 bumper and you will see the difference. 73-74 had thick/heavy metal reinforcement plates behind the bumpers.(front and rear)

I don't believe any E-body ever came with a shock absorber style mount.
