Has anyone had experience with installing a re manufactured, reprogrammed ECM and then immediately started getting new "check engine" codes that were not there before?

I got the unit pre-programmed from Napa to solve my "battery not charging issue", and the charging issue is resolved but now the codes appear but according to Napa it is not the problem. shruggy I don't really want to fight it.

Anyway, just curious if this is a common thing or not. The codes were not there before the change. The charging issue is fixed, btw.

This is honestly what I am thinking. The Napa I bought it from is giving me push back because the code states it is a tranny issue, not a ECM issue. They claim it's probably wiring or something in my harness. The receipt also says "no refunds on electrical items".

Anyway, I checked into the local Dodge dealer re-programming it to see if that cures the codes. That's another $100 though. In the end, I will have a new computer. I haven't decided yet though.....

There is a company in Florida that sells computers with lifetime warranty (on e-bay). The first one they sent me started the Durango once and then hard failed. The second one worked great, but had the CEL on. The two codes presented were odd, but one of them for a component that did not appear to have ever been there. Turns out they sent me one for California emissions and my Durango is a 49-state. So, yes it is very possible that they sold you the wrong one. Double check everything.

What year, engine, etc.?

It's nothing exciting. 99 dodge grand caravan, 3.3 flex. It's running just as it was before, but now it just has the annoying light on.

I am wondering if a reflash from the dodge dealer would made any difference.
