On the Hellcat fourm (not face book) there was a 30 min vid showing all the differences from the he'll cat motor and 392 or 6.1. Was pretty cool. And there is a lot of interesting facts in it.....and it from fca

My guy I get parts from is now working out of Potsdam NY
So it's a little longer drive.
I don't know if I will get one. Time will tell.
On a side note do you know a company called Dark Night. They are on kijiji claiming to be able to tune Mopars. Hp tuners etc....
Want to know if they are any good. Supposed to be around Kitchener On.

Quick way to tell right off the bat is to look at the external main web reinforcement on the hellcat vs any other G3 block. I have a pic if needed.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

IIRC that is like 15 lbs heavier than a 6.1 block.

Will all 5.7/6.1/6.4 external parts bolt up? Ex: Front cover, oil pump, intake, etc??

Intake will be different, no? As it's drilled for the blower??

Yes most stuff will.
My understanding is that there are two variants of the late model hemi.
5.7 early and 6.1 all stuff will interchange to a degree.
late 5.7 , 6.2 and 6.4 same thing.
Early and late model timing cover will NOT.
Crankshaft do but the later ones need the snout machined to fit earlier blocks.
early and late camshafts do not.
Hellcat heads need to be drilled as they are drilled differently for the blower. Want to avoid this buy the 6.4 truck heads. Same casting as the hellcat.

Oh yea, I had read that about the truck heads being the solution to that issue. But what about this:

Early and late model timing cover will NOT.

Am I reading that NEITHER one will work on a HC block?

Yes, but i believe the 6.1 went to 2011. If so then that won't work.
Any engine with the VVT is considered late model to me.
5.7 6.2 and 6.4.
Matt
