I am wondering what the actual the G forces are in a decent drag car running low 9 to high 8s, 1.20 to 1.30 60 ft times? help

I typed my 60' which is 1.24 on Wallace calculator. Says I'm pulling 2.44 gs. My best et was 9.50. Don't know if it's accurate. Car does leave hard.

This is some data from my turbo car. Not the best 60' @ 1.387 on this pass.

This one from last year. Hit 2+G's on this one but had to lift because the car was heading on its roof. Ruined Mopar day at LVD after the shocks broke and oiled the track.....

We've had our G meter to 3.3 but we run a little better than 8's.

IMO there is no blanket answer for this question honestly. Depends on to many variables. Some cars hook hard and will show a fairly high spike in the G meter that will quickly fall off. Wheelies will affect it to some degree because it puts the logger at a sever angle momentarily. It is a great to compare runs but not sure there is a blanket answer. For instance with my throttle stop car it would hit 2G's then drop to nothing on the stop. It went bottom 8's or better off the stop and never saw more than 2.5. We have seen 3.2 in the NA 10.5 car, that was not one of our faster laps but one that stuck the tire hard and then pulled the engine down a bit.

I am sure Bob's car sees 3+ g's at 300' out as it freaking flies smile

As Monte pointed out, a launch is not a single progressive application of power through the tires, but a series of connected and related events where the chassis and tires recover and re-hook. The data logger shows more info of what went wrong, and I don't think all G meters respond quickly enough to pick up transients.
I agree, as Al says there is no blanket answer, only a trend, and best used to compare A & B in the same car, same day.

Just a tiny bit better, correct whistling devilAre you talking about the current combination or the old one?

Your ET, MPH and 60 ft times are very close to my Cuda bow I had forgot how bad I could hurt my back in a car that 60 ft. well if I didn't push myself back into the seat before hitting the throttle to WOT realcrazy(I remembered real quiclky, it took around three passes realcrazy
I flew airplanes for 15 years and would occasionally put me and the airplane into a 1 to 2 g manuver, that was planned and took some time so I felt it come and go away, when you do a negative 1 to 2 G manuver for very long you can red out, which is not good tsk
Maybe some day I will be abe to step up to a data logger with a G meter and all the other good stuff luck

Peak G force on a 1.282 60 ft going 8.90 was Max 2.24 in about .2 seconds, dropped to 1.56 Gs at about .4 seconds, and went back up to 2.07 at about .6 seconds after TB release. I gather it spun too much then hooked, pulling the motor down.

I was hurting my back when I was throttle stopping the car to keep it over 10.00, I had the stop on in .03 and off 1.56 later, it was at around 1/4 throttle on the stop and WOT off the stop. I should have adjusted the stop to about 2/3 to 3/4 open on the stop so it wouldn't have hit me so bad when it came off and on the stop realcrazy
I may end up using the stop to run S/G and or maybe S/ST, the car weighs 2750 with me in it so it isn't a really good S/G car at that weight shruggy

Old one. The current one is a transmission away from becoming track worthy. Due any day.
