There is nothing that fits exactly.
The newer Mopar wheels are not only the wrong offset, but the bolt pattern is slightly different. There are other models that have the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern but the center register is smaller.
Some have used Mustang aluminum wheels but again, the offset is inboard more than you'd like.

05 Chrysler 300/Dodge charger wheels will fit.I put four 17" steel wheels from one on my 75 Chrysler Newport with no problems.Offset is a little off but they bolt on and I had no problems with driving them.

I took this photo at a cruise-in. I assumed they were Ford rims, but I never looked into it and never caught the owner at the car to ask.

They look a lot like my brother's crown Vic pursuit wheels.

Did a lil research and they say the wheels on the 300/Charger use a bolt circle of 115mm, whereas the older cars use 4.5" or 114.3".
People have chimed in a said that's really dangerous to do.

It may be dangerous I am only telling you that it fit and the car drove just fine.Granted short trip or two only before I sold them to someone else.

I own a set of rather old (10+ years) Stockton 17x8s and 17x10s. They use 15 inch Mopar centers welded into much larger hoops. I think that these wheels were the only aftermarket 17 inch steelies made with a true 5x4.5 bolt circle.

I was curious about this whole 115mm vs 114.3mm and found these two good topics on the subject on Ford forums - the second link is referenced in the first, and "The guy reported full conical seat contact, confirmed with paint marking."

http://forums.corral.net/forums/wheels-tires/1086950-dodge-charger-5-x-115mm-rims-mustang.html

http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthread.p...20mopar%20wheel

So recent wheels on a 115mm circle are probably just fine, but older Mopar or CV Interceptor wheels on a true 5x4.5 bolt circle are objectively safest, even if there's only a 1/64" difference to each lug (per above topics).

Those are NOT Ford cop wheels. The 1998 - 2002 ford cop wheels have "D" shaped holes, and they only come in 16". They also have a slightly smaller center bore. I am using them myself. Later Ford cop wheels have a very high positive offset and don't look anything like those.

The steel wheels that ford used on the 1998 - 2002 cop cars were not cop specific. They also appeared on Rangers and Explorers. I would be inclined to say that the 17s on that car came from a ford product that had 17" wheels standard.

I don't know B-bodies, so they may have more room than I think, but that has quite a bit of offset meaning it may be close to your tie rods, upper control arms, and leaf springs. What kind of tires were you planning on running?

If you look back at the first page, i think these are the same ones for 06 Charger's.
I'm just looking for a 17" steel rim.
Not sure about tires yet. I thought about 215/65 R17

When I ordered my wheels from Summit, I measured quite a bit. I even borrowed a friend's wheel and tire combo I thought was close to what I wanted and did some measurements. The good thing about your plan is that the tires you want are narrow (mine were 255's and will eventually go to 275's); however, a 215/65/17 is 28" tall. You're almost encroaching SUV tires. Are you going with that setup all the way around?

Another point to make, is that everyone's car is different. Factory tolerances were terrible. I found out when measuring my wheel and tire combo that my rear end was favoring one side about 0.25-0.5" more than the other. So, if you really want to know if they'll fit, measure up your wheel and see how much clearance you have, then compare it to what you want on this website and that should help you get a decent baseline to see if that wheel is practical.

Your point to measure is spot on.

I often ran 235-75-15 on B bodies, C bodies, and trucks. They fit fine. That tire is 28" X 7". Of course the back space was different and the wheels were usually 15" X 6" or 7"s wide.

I have 215-65-16 tires on one of my mini vans. They are 26" X 7"
The two vehicles ('78 pick-up & 07 mini van) side by side look so very different, but the tires are actually very close in size.

I also have a pair of 225 X 70 X 15 on stock aluminum C body wheels and they look big next to the mini van tires but are only an inch taller. Also 26" X 7"s but look tall and thin on 15" rims.

I think today's tires are simply a bit wider and it makes them seem shorter. A mini van is much shorter than a truck but the wheel well opening is very close in size. It makes 'em look different.

SUV or Mini Van. It's all very relative to perception.

If I recall the original post was for an early 70's B body. I would think you might want something in a 17" X at least an 8" wheel.
maybe some 245 or 255 series tires. I think that would be a bit wider than 7 or 8 inches and look much better. We used to put some big tires on those cars.

I don't like those rims linked @ summit for a muscle era car or truck. They look like a modern replacement wheel. Old stuff needs a different back space.

Myself I am in the market for a 17" rim to fit my 8 lug 3/4 ton pick up.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.
