there is a guy on the LS forums that for a small fee will talk you through the holley soft ware and piggy back into your computer so he can show you what to do i think its like 4 hours of info
and yes its not 100% self learning
also with a large overlap cam might try switching from speed density to alpha-n to help with the lack of vacuum at idle

If you are looking for something off the shelf, IMO Hughes engines knows small block Chrysler cams better than most. It's how they cut their teeth in the business. Talk to Dave Hughes. Tell him what you got and where you want to go.
