Is there a bell housing to bolt it to the granny low 4 speed from an 85 3/4 ton? Got a customer building a super nice rig and he wants to run a V-10 and he has the chassis from the 85 with a 360 and 4 speed right now.

Here is a good thread on it from moparts https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/1545657/re-bell-housing-bolt-pattern.html

They are they same as a cummins (but I think 94+ cummins). I also think viper v10's and truck ones are different but I can't find a good 100% source on that.

i would pick up a 1990 dodge cummins/getrag bell housing and then take a 435 dodge 4 speed tranny and set it in there----i did a similar thing with a 833 overdrive to a v10---it took a 3/4 inch aluminum spacer plate between the bellhousing and the transmission-----it works but will take a little mill work.....

The ram truck and the viper V10 use different bellhousing's. Which one is he looking to use?

HRDAVE----everybody is hitting all over here----the cummins and truck V10 are definately the same---and i once sold a cummins 727 (off a 1990 truck) to a guy putting it on a viper v10 drag race car----so it must be the same also----and i did put an 833 4 speed on the back of a truck V10-----here is what has to be done----put the getrag bellhousing flat on the floor---take the 435 and stick it in the hole----look at where the mounting bolt holes go---if there is a conflict with the holes/bolts then you may have to attach it from the inside----my adapter had one such---now make the measurements from the engine block back through flywheel--length of the input shaft to the mounting surface of the 435----i think it should be 3/4 inch-----get a piece of aluminum plate (or steel if you prefer)------cut the shape to cover all the mounting holes in both the bellhousing and the transmission mark the mounting holes for the bellhousing then drill them-----now for the mill part---take the getrag bellhousing and center it on the mill with the index hole and clamp it down--now bolt the adapter to the bellhousing----now you use the mill to make the new index hole in the adapter plate-----take the bellhousing off the mill----if you like you can drill 2 index holes through both the adapter and the bellhousing and install rollpins----next lay the bellhousing back on the floor and throw the 435 into position into the new adapter-----mark the mounting moles and then drill them----now remember if you had interference from from the old holes to the new holes you need to either countersink for the heads or attach from the inside which means you have to thread the adapter instead of drilling a plain hole

Not going to get involved in milling we don't have a mill sitting aroun, no welding skills, no aluminum plate, never used my dial indicator to center a bell... we was just wondering if someone knew if a bellhousing off say a NV4500 or something else would bolt to the 4 speed (it is definately NOT an 833). I know from building auto trannys the cummins and truck V10 are the same shape bell, I just don't know manual tranny interchange stuff.

the 241 was found on the 94 up cummins and v10 trucks--it is a driver drop----the 205 was used on dodge trucks from about 1985 to 1993 it is a passenger drop---it might already be on the chassis he has---verify the spline counts on the tranny and the transfer case.....
