On my Duster I have the AO1 light package (fender mounted turn signals) Ralle Dash- Since I have owned the car, the driver's side "Dash" indicater flashes, but the driver's side fender indicator does not flash. The passenger side fender indicator works but the Dash indicator does Not flash. So the opposites sides work. I have replaced the bulbs, and the circuit board. Is is possible the circuit is such that if one fender indicator is not working it causes the dash indicator opposite side not to work?

Is is possible the circuit is such that if one fender indicator is not working it causes the dash indicator opposite side not to work? No not that. with the stalk down is the large filament in the 1157 DR side bulb blinking/stalk up is the pass side 1157 bulb blinking? If so, the fender mini bulb open is way forward with the connection between the 1157/fender mini bulb on each side respectively. First I would confirm the fender mini bulbs have continuity to ground and you might seperate/clean the bulkhead terminals. You can seperate the pull apart Turn signal/brake dangling harness under the st column & with stalk in nuetral/up/down see which wires respectively have continuity to each other. (dont have em memorized so more later) & that'll get the column out of the picture. that'd be a start (especially the grounds)

My 73 dart had them and they both worked.Inside and outside.Rocky That's interesting, Rocky. My parents bought a 1970 Satellite new in early 1971 and my Mom actually still owned that car until 2013. It had the fender mounted turn signal indicators and the inside dash indicators never functioned since day one. Makes me wonder if it was defective from the factory....

Quite possibly. I've had a '68 New Yorker, a '71 Dart Swinger and a '75 Valiant Brougham. All 3 had fender top turn indicators and all of them worked in conjunction with the dashboard indicators.
I would check the grounds at the fender indicators and check the pins on the circuit board of the gauge cluster.

I'm guessing burned out bulbs. Do the grille indicators work right?

My 69 has fender mounted signals. Both dash and fender mounts work at same time.

I forgot my 4 Imperails had fender mounts and the insides worked on them also. They were different though as they had hibeam indicators in them also.Might still have a couple in the garage somewhere.Rocky

if the large filaments in the front dr/pass 1157 bulbs work when the stalk is activated (up/down) I'd find the open between them and the fender mini bulbs (& their grounds possibly) & get them working. that'd be a start & get that part squared away will give you confidence to dig into the hard(er) part (working up under the dash)

I think I will have to investigate from the steering column up. I checked the small bulb in the fender blinker, and the wire and ground in the fender where it plugs into the harness, all was good. Has to be from the harness back.

All of the turning signal lites (dash, front, rear) are wired in parallel (+ side) when ON.... But each has its own ground, U need to check each socket for corrosion & bulb for continuity, plus the bulkhead connectors.. Just my $0.02....

If the main park/turn/tail lamps all function properly, then it's probably a matter of either a ground, bad socket or bad wire for the fender top light and I'd be willing to put money on it being a broken pin on the cluster board for the dash light.
