It's probable it came from a Belvedere based car. Belvedere, Satellite, Sport Satellite or Road Runner.

It's probable it came from a Belvedere based car. Belvedere, Satellite, Sport Satellite or Road Runner. Could have been a SuperBee too. Any evidence of original paint left? Road Runner and SuperBee would have been painted Street Hemi Orange.

From what I can tell, that VIN range would be Belvedere based.
the 383 HP would have been available in most all Belevedere and Coronet based cars depending on how the car was equipped. The HP variant was not strictly limited to Road Runners or Super Bees.

Paint color of the motor would help here . I need to look thru pictures I have to see what was stamped on the pad of a 68 383 4bbl , non Road Runner, engine that was in the 68 Sport Satellite 'vert I owned.
running up my post count some more .

Is it stamped HP on the pad or are you just presuming it is a HP assembly?
