I have a 1966 barracuda 273 4spd car all original. It has the stock lock out reverse style shifter(lock out is non functional and is very hard to find gears). Well I would like to go with a hurst set up. Is this possible with this style/year trans?
If so are there any tricks/tips/part numbers I should know?
Any help would be appreciated.

Call Brewers for advice. They have setups for console and no console '66s.

You can get a Hurst mechanism and use your current handle to make it look stock if you want to. work

I ran a Hurst Super Shifter many years ago in my 66 Dart and it worked and fit fine. Course I did not have a console in it. Ron
