Of the supposedly 5 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible N96 cars. Is the Diamante include in that figure? Does anyone have any photos that they could post of any of the 1970 challenger convert shaker cars?

The the car that became the Yellow Jacket / Diamante was not coded for an N96 hood.

But it is a R code car.

I just saw the Diamante at the Muscle Car Nationals in Chicago. I didn't get a chance to see the fender tag but from reading this little billboard it states that is was the first shaker hood challenger and convertible built.

Built by Chrysler, but it was not built with a shaker at the factory.

The car's fender tag went missing early on.

N96 is not on the Chrysler invoice.

I have all the Inside data & info, the MSO as well as the window sticker and all documentation as well as personal photos of the Yellow Jacket from start to finish as well as personal stories about it being built. fender tag codes etc. . It did not have a Shaker. I repeat it did not have a Shaker. I don't think you could get a Shaker hood until the lawsuits were settled being April 17th 1970 the earliest known Shaker Hood Challenger built that I know of.

Lawsuits? First I've ever heard of this! Can you expand on that a little?

Barry, while we're on the subject of the Diamante, is it 1 of the 9 U.S. sold Hemi Challenger verts?

The Yellow Jacket / Diamante is coded Y05 for US sale.

I have heard of 17 JS27R0 cars so far but I do not have compete data on all of them, some may be fakes.

Three of the 17 (so far) were built for Canadian sale.

That might be Kevin Moore's former Six Pack 4-spd Challenger R/T. work If it is, the SHAKER is added.

Kevin is here in Iowa but I haven't talked to him in quite some time. I know he has had a few shaker challengers over the years.

My Challenger was a true shaker car with a build date of april 15. It was a hardtop car.
