That might work on steel lines, but I've done battle with SS...
The flares must be perfect... Thats when I first started using it, on stainless. My bet is it lubricates more than seals. I was a skeptic, as were many I told. Try it. Doug I'm gonna do that, Doug... (Cuz' I got one TINY leak at the metering valve that I have had absolutely no luck sealing 100%...)

OK, so I finally got this resolved. I will still be out the ridiculous amount of shipping that I paid for 2 sets of wrong lines. I talked to the receptionist and told her what a douche her fellow employee was to me and that I wanted to send the stuff back. She says OK but there will be a restocking fee. WRONG. Pete gets on the phone to work this out. I tell him the whole story plus how I had bought the correct lines from Fine Lines. He looks at them on the internet and doesn't have a whole lot to say except they probably got them from Inline Tube. Whatever. I also say that I want them to pay return shipping to which he agreed. I have yet to get the label. Here are the Fine Line parts...

I'm fairly quick on the uptake, especially if I'm cheesed off a bit. But I should have said "Why didn't you send me the correct part in the first place if they sell your stuff?"
