This car was in boxes when bought. The doors could have been changed at some point. I have only seen one other gtx with this chrome. Here is a pic of the car with the trim on it.

It is an option on hardtops. Option available on Plymouth B-body post cars too Yes I agree, I should have said cars with metal tops. aka hard tops. 68-70 Satellite, Sport Satellite, Road Runner, and GTX all the same. Door trim pieces the same as convertibles. Quarter panel trim is unique to each roof type, 21 23 27. Dodge Coronet quarter panel pieces are different than Plymouth, Coronet door pieces the same as Plymouth. 68-70 Dodge Charger trim is unique in itself and will not interchange with the other B-bodies.

It is an option on hardtops. I have never seen this on a 69 GTX, this would be a rare option. what is this option called and what is the code for it ? does it appear on the fender tag or just the build sheet ?

I would imagine a 69 satellite is the same as the GTX. I will look and see if my doors have them on it since I have gutted the doors for parts. I will check back tomorrow and see if someone posted some photos and if not I will get some. David A satellite would not be the same as a GTX, but maybe a sport satellite.

It is on the build sheet M31 Belt mouldings. 1970 RR, Lynch Road, so it is not on the fender tag. Unsure if it is on fender tag of LA and St Louis cars.

Honestly, it depends on how "concours" you want to be with your restoration. I ran into this exact issue when I modified a '68 hardtop door to put on my '70 convt. (all verts have this molding). The clips behind the trim can slide left/right within the trim, so you just need one clip on each end of the trim piece and a few more in the middle. I did mine by measuring the other side and copying it.

440+6, NOS, 4-spd, SS springs
'96 Mustang GT convt. street car
'04 4.6 SOHC, NOS, auto, lowered
