5wndwcpe OP pro stock Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,528 Southeast PA	Previous posts have posited that the grease pencil markings on a valve cover are the last three of the engine assembly's part number. I have a 1968 383/4bbl/4spd motor and can't seem to find the info in the white books. (the broadcast sheet is non-existent). The original markings were visible as either 709 or 769 I think, but I couldn't be sure due to the age and deterioration.. Anyone have this info ?
