Good to see a engineering document showing it to be there! Thank you. Curious that is shows use white decals with E5 and both E5 cars pictured in this thread have black decals...

Actually, I believe both cars pictured in this thread are EV2 (at least I know the white top sunroof car is).

I noticed in one of the other threads that are up on this car in the engine picture it appears your using a reproduction dipstick and have it painted Black. Based on what I know from back in the day and on my 72 400 car's the dipsticks are shaped differently than currently reproduced and were dipped in Orange paint to match the Air Cleaner.
You can reference this old auction of an NOS piece to see what I'm saying.
Hope this helps
Ron

Ron, Thanks for mentioning that....I will do some research and change it. I had done a 74 RR with a 400 and it was black. I always am open to critiques and in the end I want to do the best job possible!!
Anyone else have an orange handle on their blue engine?
Mark

Here is my Current 72 Satellite 400 auto.
Besides the Orange dip the shape on an original or NOS is totally different than current reproductions.

Happy to read this about engine call outs.
Over the years noticed inconsistent decal placement on these cars.
Glad to see in print that the standard engines cars had NO external call-out.
I think it annoys many 383 and 400 owners that the "little" 340 got call outs, but their cars didn"t!

Here is a 72 RR GTX restored by the McGlauphlans way several years back. It was featured as a "reference restoration" by mopar action magazine. Not the greatest picture, but if you can find an old back issue (i know I have it somewhere) it should have allot of detail items.

Its a 4spd, dana, console car.

In 71, the standard 383 cars did get callouts. For 72 the standard 400 did not.

I saw that car in person at the Atlantic City Auction last Feb. Still looks very nice but needs TLC underhood.
It has been shopped around a bunch the past few years.
