the bearing clearances ended up at .00325 on main and .002" on rods using coated rod bearings. crank end play is .0055" and rod side clearance is .025"-.027". pistons look to be .010" in the hole. the 1mm rings went in the bores easier than i thought they would as they didn't want to stay in their grooves. used wd40 on rings and torco assembly lube on bottom of skirts. the cam is being reground by Bullet and will be 267/275@50 .688/.688 lift on 106 per kurt@Bullet. it is a solid roller. so as of now i'm just waiting on cam and heads and then i will continue. goal is to have it done and on dyno by christmas. should make between 650 and 680hp.

one other thing. it only takes 12 lbft to turn crank. last build took 25 lbft using 1/16 rings. these 1mm rings are standard tension.

Thin rings are where it's at.

Remind me about the heads/intake.

Sounds cool Dave.
Would have figured the cam would be more in the mid 270's@50 range.

indy heads 360-1 and indy intake ported. dwayne says heads now flow 20 more cfm at mid lift and should flow 330 range at .700 when he's done.

kurt did say 270 wouldn't be too much, but had to go with 267 to get the lobes he wanted.

My 4 inch was 273-280, Dwayne specced it with mild lobes so I could drive it around some.
The new owner moved up to another Dwayne cam that was 276/284 with more aggressive lobes and the car really picked up. Same compression as your running.
Most stuff I have seen in the mid 260's works good on edelbrock combo's.

Nice build just put my 410 short block together. What compression are you coming up with ? My flat top 416 was 13.8

looks like 13.3 if the piston is .010 in the hole. should of only been .005 in hole. i still have to cc chambers to get an accurate compression spec.

267 isnt too far from 273. i was told it takes 10* change too tell any difference. i told them it would see some street driving, but mostly track. too small is better than too big any day.

Is it too late to pull the pistons back out and take care of all those sharp edges on the domes and valve reliefs? That's a lot of CR to use with an as-machined piston.
