That's just wrong. I've been going there for 10 years and this has never been a rule. With the lower payout than the previous owners Chrysler races and now this, I'm getting closer and closer to blowing this one off.

That has been on there before but I went in on Thursday and paid at the gate with no issues.

From what I see on the flyer it says "12-6 PM Thursday early entry for preregistered entrants". What about after 6:00 PM Thursday? Looks like the same money I received for a semi and win last year 300/1500.

It IS the same as last year (same guy running it)....in the past Pro class has been $2000 to win, with less entry fee. But now, and I'm pretty sure this was all discussed last year, S/P, Pro AND Sportsman all pay out the same. No matter how many cars...great deal for Sportsman...I just hope they appreciate the Pro class helping their payout. I liked it when a class was rewarded for bringing the most cars to the event and having a better payout, OR having less entry fee for the same payout. (few years back, S/P and Pro had same payout but S/P had a slightly higher entry fee because they had less cars)

Same old discussion as we had with JJ years ago, Pro class was by far the largest but still paid less than S/P. Then he saw our logic and raised the purse in Pro. When the series was sold to CB, he also saw the logic and purses were appropriate. Good luck with having any discussion with the current promoter.

Same as last year

As long as they kibosh the saving of spots I'll be happy. We got there Thursday evening and every space was saved last year. I drove around 3 laps before someone finally moved a cone over for us.

yep, last year was really bad with the saving of spots. I understand wanting to pit with ur buddies, but how many spots is it fair for u to save ? The other thing was all the campers taking up spots that race rigs could be using, I sure hope that the promoter was charging those campers the same entry as a racer since they were using the spots.

Real quick

The pre reg for Thursday entry is to try to keep things moving forward quickly.

We keep the gate open 24 hours a day starting Thursday night.

By pre registering you get in first.

I understand that when it rains and we can't use linders lot things get messy but that's just part of the fun

As for the payout you get to race for a purse both days.

So it's 1500 to win Saturday and 1500 to win Sunday. Sometimes that seems to slip through the crack

So it's actually much better pay out overall.

That's funny, I got there Friday morning and found a spot for my 28' enclosed no problem. I didn't even make one lap.

Thanks Josh for coming on here and answering the questions asked. This goes to show how much you want this show to be a Huge success and grow.
I will NOT miss your event as it's a Great race to participate in. I just wish the heads up program would get bigger as those cars are Awesome to watch.
Thanks Josh,

I believe they came around Friday morning and asked to stop saving spots but I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be smile

Either way it's one of our favorites!!

Ok, I did a little log book research. Nothing is slipping through the cracks.

We used to pay $70 for the Sunday race fee, $2000 to win. Friday and Saturday were gambler's races for $20, pretty good money to win...usually didn't pay down far, which it should have.

So, we're now paying $75 to win $1,500 (both days), and it's only paying down to 1/4's. If you're gonna take $500 off winner's prize money, how about distributing it in the 1/8's? Maybe $50 for 1/8's? That's a max of 8 cars you'd have to pay. Nothing like going 5 rounds and getting nothing back.

Also, something to consider, keep the 10.0 qualifying away from the Pro class in the run order...too many cars rushing back to have to run right away. There are enough classes to space them apart better.

I'm still not exactly clear on Thursday...pre-registered ONLY? Or will you let non pre-registered enter after the pre-registered are in? Or will we have to wait until after 6pm (you list 12-6 for pre-reg on your flier)?

one of my faovrites. i have saved spaces before, but i believe it needs the big ax. its getting ridiculous, i see guys roping off huge sections then guarding them like no tomorrow. i don't think anyone should have to struggle to get a decent spot when their waiting in line early thursday morning because some jack waggon thinks he owns 10 stacker size parking spots.

Well I didn't take anything or change anything from the last 2 years I was there payout wise but I am not sure what Charlie did. Im certain the guys who are going to win each class both days have already picked out there winners circle outfit because they have it locked up, but take a look at the even over all from the stand point of payout. It's better overall for the event. If we based payout on car count I would have to get rid of guaranteed payouts and base it solely on car count and no one wants that

As anything, with growth we will be able to raise payout to attract more racers but it takes time.

Pre registered racers will be let in first Thursday between 12-6. Anyone else can come in after that and pay at the gate around the clock. Pre registering helps us understand the amount of people to anticipate for numerous reasons as well as pays the bills leading up to putting the event on.

Hope that helps.

Oh, Pro class would LOVE that. And I'm sure Sportsman likes what they have now. It benefits them most. Less cars, less rounds, same payout as the class with twice as many cars. If I had a car to run in Sportsman, I'd make the switch, and I haven't run that class in....let me think....EVER.

After two years I think you have a pretty good idea of what to expect from S/pro, Pro and Sportsman.

That second to last year that you had your deal at Indy....pretty sure you had a $3000 to win for Pro, or no-box...and didn't that entry include a Saturday race also? That was nice, because it was something over and above the typical payout you get from your home track bracket race. We (pro class) get a lot more cars for an event like this than our typical home track turnout so I would expect a lot better payout than we'd see normally, but what you're paying out isn't really that special. Lot of racers just want to come out and race and payout isn't really all that important, but I'll bet your more die-hard types feel as I do.

Anyway, thanks for your responses. Just giving you some feedback to possibly make the event better in the future.

Oh, and as previously mentioned, try and put some space in the run order between 10.0 and Pro, the majority of your 10.0 racers come from Pro class and rushing back up to the lanes right after you make a pass is not fun. Especially when some racers set their cars up differently for 10.0 and the pro tree. (different t-brake buttons and/or spacers, launch rpm, shift rpm, throttle travel limiters, air pressure)
