Hi guys, I was wondering if these air bleeds on the outboard 440 six pack butterflies were original? I have three outboard carbs, and all have the same holes in the same locations??? Thanks!

I believe so.

I think it was to work with the idle circuit mixture. they are almost right above where the bleed needles come out.

Also -
I would imagine that you would want the butterflies completely shut at idle and without the holes you would not have any bleed air for the idle circuit.

Original transmission and Dana - Engine is a service replacement block.

Yeah, I thought that they looked a little too centered as far as location ... I don't see anyone taking that much time to measure the hole locations so perfect..

They're all in the same place.
