I have a very simple question
how can you visual identify an AMD trim ring from an original I am guessing that there is small pt# casted into the originals but not sure if a later NOS one could be w/o a pt#.
what is the correct length of the studs that get nutted under the hood?
if anyone could post good pics I would appreciate it greatly.
I might have me an issue and want to get my ducks lined up before I get on the phone.
thanks in advance. Bill
Got me a NEW Project 1970 GTX 440+6, 4 spd, 4.10 Dana and N96 FE5 (top/bottom) and black bucket interior. Original transmission and Dana - Engine is a service replacement block.
Body has all stamped #s + VIN/TRIM tag and door sticker. Been hunting like all hell to find the Build Sheet.
garage find, only had 41,850 miles on ODO.

thanks for the info - greatly appreciate it
btw... I found out my ring is a repro one. any chance the original trim ring is a little bit taller than the repro one does?
only asking because i can see more of the shaker bubble and the scripts on the side sit up above the ring more. before i had the car worked on, they sat a bit lower in the hole....
there seems to be a bout a 1/8" or so difference on the height above the hood, with the one on my car being lower.
