It turns out there was no collision on my trailer, no fault in MI. So I get $1000 from the girls insurance on a mini-tort. I figure how hard can it be. It's like a roll cage, albeit a bent one. The floor came out pretty easy. Took a 100 mile round trip down to Jerry Lozon's and got some info and the parts. Jerry is a great guy, very helpful. Yesterday I stripped the door. Man is it heavy. When you remove the diamond plate and the 3/4" plywood it comes up by itself, FAST. Then torched out the rear cross member and trimmed the welds with the cut off wheel. Today I cut the door frame apart. Dollied out the bent center and made a jig to square it up. The uprights were pulled in 2" at the bottom. Got it all welded up. Had to borrow a port-a-power to spread the uprights at the latch as the were bowed 3/8". Tomorrow I'll tackle the new cross member after work.

Man that really sucks ------ I'm sure you will get it fixed and done right though.

So your insurance would not cover the damage? I'm going to have to check into mine but think I have mine covered in a case like you had.

In New York the no fault applies to medical coverage. Liability % still applies.
Either way your doing a good job!

When you get it done, it will be nicer than it was when it was new ..

Progress continues. Got the rear cross member fitted and welded in. Figured out the geometry of the hinges since they were larger in diameter. After welding the hinges to the door it bowed in 1/2" at the bottom. Put a 4x4 under the center and 3 of us jumped on it, perfect. Set the door and got everything welded up.

For $35.00 a year you could have it insured for $5000.00

Once again I'm reminded that everyone in the world has way more skills than I do. It's going to be better than new soon!

Got the frame painted, trim straightened (best I could) and the door is done. Even changed out the LR last side panel. Still have to finish the floor, change out the RS side panel and the rear taillight trim.

Nice work there doug. I thought for sure that was you I saw going to Milan sunday there was a rig just like yours heading out but when I got there it wasn't you. I was looking forward to see you as we were there testing 2 cars. So I had my hands full. So I take it you haven't tried that other set up on your car yet???

Nieces 16th birthday Saturday so I'll miss Milan, didn't want to.
We'll be in Norwalk for the No Box race the following weekend and then the Curt George Memorial.

Holleys aren't on yet. This happened on my 1st test night. Borrowed a trailer to go to Bowling Green. Been in repair mode since.

Nope, It wasn't on my original schedule. I lost in the 2nd round for the DD Classic (car rolled the lights). I'm still entered for the F/X shoot out but trying to stay closer to home. With Pittsburgh in 2 weeks that would be two 700 mile trips in a row.
