It is the same seal that is used on the later model that also seals the kickdown shaft. On the later models it is not in the case but in the valve body. Remove the circlip and washer from the kickdown shaft and the seal is below the washer.

if it is the seal I am thinking of it goes in the case (from the top) then the VB shaft goes up thru it from underneath. not sure about early/late but on the later ones the 904/727 are the same. it looks like a miniature 8&3/4 end seal (the big one you drive in). I have a baggie of 20 of em & I'll see if I can find em tomorrow & take a pic & I would send you one.

Seals, like rolling element bearings and O-rings, are standardized.

Given the hole diameter, the shaft diameter and the width, it should be possible to buy from an industrial supplier, although it may be sold in lot sizes of 20 or 50 or whatever.

the seal should be available from most amy transmission shop as it comes in all 727. 904, 500, 518 or 4X series gasket kits. It is the same one used on the valve body as shown in these pictures.

Nope. Same seal from '60 until the end of production.

my '69 service manual is showing a larger seal,....? i know i've been thru this before but must have slept too much since then. rock auto is showing a larger seal than what i have, assuming i'm looking at the right seal.

i'm tring to get the pat blais ebay site up but so far no luck. he sells a re-seal kit and i need a kick down lever too.

The '66-on metal-clad shift shaft seal in the case is larger, the subject all-rubber TP shaft seal was the same from day one.

Exactly. The cable shift units only had the throttle pressure shaft that came through the case and used the seal. The shift cable entered below and forward and used an O ring seal. As John said, in 1966 when the linkage type shifter was introduced, there were now two shafts that come through the case. The shifter shaft is larger and uses a metal backed seal that is pressed into the case while the throttle pressure shaft now comes through the center of the shifter shaft but uses the same seal that used to be in the case of the previous cable shift units.
