jazz fuel cell, vent line goes out through floor. if left in trailer or in my shop over night heavy fumes smell present. any ideas? thanks

And if the tank heats up it will pressurize it and
turn it into a ball... he can put a charcoal canister
on the vent line.. but every once in a while he will
have to blow it out with air to purge the vapors

Just go to the junk yard and get 2 older charcoal canisters(a lot of yards throw them in a pile) and leave one in the trailer and one in the shop.. run a rubber hose to your vent line.. just plug it on when you park in the trailer or shop

What kind of gas?? I know out west here that pump gas will actually have the odor leach through steel braided lines. Has nothing to do with the vent at all. Not sure you have the same issues in FL but it was a big issue in Cali with pump gas

the braided line then he would have to change the
line to either viton lined or teflon lined to elininate
the permeation through the line... even a Jass or
other manufacturer plastic tanks will permeate vapor
through it but most likely the bulk of the vapor is
going out the vent and thats where the canister will
help big time... I dont know of any fuel cells that
have a permeation barrier made into them

Wouldn't the charcoal canister 'self purge' as fuel is used up, sucking fresh air back into it as it pulls in air to replace the fuel the car burns?

Thats if you keep it hooked up.. being a race car I
would pull it off and just use it when parked

Yeah I know how hot it gets there.. I tested fuel
systems out in Phoenix for 20 years+ out at the test

Empty the fuel tank when in storage . Problem solved ......works for me.
Gas is fer washin' parts ....Alky`s fer drinkin' ...Nitro`s fer Racin'!

I agree with the fuel leaching through the lines. I had to replace mine with teflon lined braided lines and fittings. I used 3 loops at about 8" in diameter and I have a fuel filter at the end before exiting the trunk. I also have the loops above the fuel cell so no fuel can slosh into them.
It does work and it's cheap so if it doesn't work try the charcoal canister.

pump gas, braided line, emptying not a option as when at the track the trailer has living qtrs , I really dont want to drain it just to park it overnight. thanks for the ideas
