The 1250 carbs have a REALLY big throttle blade and tend to not work well on many motors. Just sharing my experience from what we have seem on other combos.

Try contacting AJ Casini on here for your conversion, I had him do a E 85 1150CFM HP Holley Dominator for me several years back, it works well It is on my 505 C.I,.400 block bracket motor, 4.350 bore with 4.250 stroke, it has ran a best of 9.003 at 147.7 MPH in my 2780 lb 1970 Cuda bracket car Hopefully I can tune it to run 8.90 at or above 150 MPH this year, I raced it on the throttle stop most of last year due to not having NHRA Comp. racing drivers license and safety gear until mid August of last year

Well Cab if ya need a driver I know a guy
Not now, I bought the required gear and renew the old license I'm debating on to try traing my middle grandson or not He's the only one of the three that is interested in any kind of car or motorcylce racing. Same way with my daughter and son, they never wanted to drive the drag cars, they both loved riding two, three and four wheelers in the desert though, especaiily Dumont dunes The wife would drive my old stocker at George Air Force base on thier old 1/8 mile track but not on any 1/4 mile tracks, she said the car was to fast in the 1/4 It would run 95 MPH in the 1/8 and 117 in the 1/4 mile Now if you know someone who can retrain a old guy like me so they can win more than one or two rounds at each race I'm in

Has anybody every converted a Holley 1250 Dominator gas carb over to E85? If so, what were your results and any pointer would help. Going on a 540cid (4.28" bore X 4.50"stroke) 12.3:1 comp with Indy -1 heads and about a .680 lift roller.
I did, sent it to APD and loved it. When I got to 16-1 compression, I sold it.

It came with 93 in the front with a power valve and 103 in the back.He did change the metering plates and put in a set of Dominator annular boosters with the flared skirts, probally doesn't flow 1150 anymore It does work very well, repeats like it is dead on

As I said before most of those OOTB Holley, QF 1250's have way to big a throttle blade/bore for probably 99% of the cars out there. Certainly from this board. Just been what I have seen. I think you will find plenty of them out there for sale and likely there is a reason.

Al ,ran with c12 vp and an 1150 cfm Holley, bolted on 1250 gen ootb, the car picked up a tenth and 3.5 mph ,my down fall was attempting to switch to e-85 with the 1250 i would have been better off converting the 1150 to e-85 than the 1250.just a few short months till we see marks results...pat

Not saying it aint for all just aint for most is all My carb is a good deal bigger CFM wise but with a more favorable blade booster sizing. Looking like my pair for the Predator will flow more cfm than 1250 as well. IMO if it picked up that much over the 1150 it likely needed some more work, would be my opinion anytime an OOTB carb picks up from a previous carb of that size that was dialed in unless it was simply the worng carb to begin with. A tenth and 3.5MPH is a TON. Just sayin.

Hey I am not an expert by any means just trying to make an observation. I agree those black carbs look awesome!! We have played with E85 a bit, have a built carb for it. Still faster with Q so we always go back. I have the carb and over a half full drum of E85 I need to sell.

FWIW...I have a Pro Systems 1150 based 1200 cfm Dominator on my 572" Hemi. I contacted them a few years ago to see about converting it over to E-85...they said they'd want to start w/ a 1250 main body. Something about the added volume of fuel, they'd want the bigger carb body and extra air flow. At that point it made more sense to just buy the E-85 carb complete than to have my good working carb converted...didn't want to spend that much at the time, so I never went ahead w/ it.
