All,

Is there a sticky on here for the wiring and computer on a 2010 / 5.7

I just bought a totaled 2010 challenger with a 5.7 and a five speed auto. It is running drivable with no codes. This is going to be transplanted into a 71 scamp.

I plan to use the computer and want to disable unneeded points from the wiring and computer prior to pulling the engine and trans.

I have not been on MOPARTS regularly for a couple years so my apologies if this has been well covered but I could not find it with my searches.

A few people have made harnesses work, but it's never been detailed how they did it.

I thought about going with the Hotwire harness based on a stock ECU for my hemi, but in the end the megasquirt MS3 box worked out to be a better option.

I wanted to use the stock transmission so thought it would be best to keep the factory computer to control it.

The stock transmission is a bit of a mess. It will need its own computer and something to pick up wheel speed. It's also very large.

I don't know enough about it to comment past that.

It is unlikely that you will be able to make the 2010 PCM work with this swap unless you stash the dash and other components in the Scamp. Your better choice would be an older 5.7 or 6.1 and the Hotwire kit. Or scrap the 2010 trans, bolt up a small block 727 and go with the EFI Source "gold box"

Yes you can do it, is it worth it is another question. The last one I did was a 2010 engine/trans in a old Dakota. I paired down the harness, used the 2010 TIPM, WCM and ABS controller for VSS. Had to have a tone ring made for inside the front rotor and used a single 2010 speed sensor. I used the 2010 cluster as well. This was a friends truck, so he didn't pay shop rate, but if he had, you would be far ahead to just use a Holley plug and play system and swap out the trans for a manual, or dare I say it, 4L80E. The Holley will control a GM trans and the adapter is cheaper than making the Chrysler work.

This is just a small pile of the harness that was paired down.

Hey, that front seat looks like mine did a few years ago! Now it looks worse.

Craig,

Thanks for the reply. Good information. I would like to give it a try depending on how much of the dash I need to keep. Any info you are willing to share is much appreciated.

Making a tone ring is not a problem.

You should see the outside! It does run 11.50's and gets 26 MPG on the highway though...

When I get a little time, I'll copy some wiring diagrams for you. Need the last 8 of the VIN.
