I have a chance to pick up a hood with the long narrow bumps, one on each side of the hood, for my 67 dart. The inserts are gone. Anyone know if I can buy the inserts separate and where? Not lookin for original if there is a cheaper aftermarket alternative. This is far from a high dollar car.

Thanks, Kevin

I see them for 68-69 dart at Classic industries but they are over $300 ! maybe a decent used set on Ebay or check the parts swap on here.

Thanks! Driver quality is all I want. Granny car. The hood has a huge hole cut in it and will need to weld it up.

Which inserts are you going to get?, 67 didn't come with the bulge hood. 68 and 69 are different.

It doesn't matter which. Just trying to fill the area so it looks normal.

Not sure if what i can get is a 8 or 9.

The sets I was referring to are 69s, 68s are generally more expensive from what I have run accross, argueably cooler looking.

Are the hood openings the same and the inserts different from 8-9?

'68 and '69 hoods are the same. Inserts look different but will interchange.

68 and 69 hoods are not the same. The underhood bracing is different as the 69 had crumple zones and three holes punched in the drivers side for the DODGE emblem for the 340 Swinger. Of course the holes are also different between the 68 GTS letters (3 sets of holes), the 69 GTS letters, only two holes, and the 69 Swinger holes. Besides they are the same...

I stand corrected.

I just knew that you could swap a '69 hood onto a '68 and vice versa.

I like the '69 inserts myself, to each their own!

I think I like 69s better too but that is why I said argueably cause I know some have a different view, you gotta admit the 68s are cool.
