When it hits 100 degrees, that extra quart of water, and the extra open air surface amounts to a lot of extra cooling. Open up the rad surround and mount up that 26" rad, or stuff a thick aluminum rad in the 22" opening. Gene
Well it dam gets 100 hear. Don't want to cut my core support, so looking at Mark 7 rads, alum, large tubes & offers black anodize. Thanks Mark

I've done 2 cars with 22 inch rads/openings to 26 and no cutting involved. I bought champion rads and they have the mounts already on it so all's I did was mount the rad on the existing driver's side bolts, level the rad and drill holes where needed on the passenger side. The entire opening is exposed for air and a 1970 26 inch shroud for Roadrunner, bought at a local chrysler dealer, mounted perfectly to the mounting holes on the rad. This was done on a 67 r/t and a 67 GTX. The tranny lines are extremely close but I used different fittings.
My core support hole is 22 1/2" by 18 1/2". I just wondered if the 4" that's covered on a 26" would still cool better than a 22". Thanks Mark

There are ZERO factory '67 440 b-bodies with 22" radiators. Clones?

No, you claimed to have had a 67 GTX with a 383 that you swapped a 440 into and that it had a 22" radiator, factory..
GTX was a clone...as The R/T...but what is the difference when talking about a 66..that's the subject...I used examples to show it's easy to swap a 26 in and don't need to cut the opening....as a side note...the only tell on either of my cars was the vin and the rad opening...everything else was done

Wow guys is it a full moon. Starting to sound like general. I just wondered if an alum big tube 22" rad would do the job? Didn't mean to Thanks Mark
