NTOLERANCE OP master Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 4,384 Madison Wi	Would I be correct in assuming that it's a seal that taps into the housing similar to the front seal on a big block Mopar I used to care but....... things have changed

hemi70 enthusiast Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 311 Mass. USA#1	The seal is pressed into a retainer that is bolted to the block. New seals should come in a new retainer with a sleeve to help with installation. Had 1 early 3.5 with excess crank end play cause a leak there otherwise not too common. Very commen for the camshaft thrust plates on the back of the heads to leak, sometimes ALOT! Gary.
