Can anyone tell me about the world hemi block that they used to sell that was 4.190 bore? If you bore it to 4.25 you loose .060 cly wall thickness right at the start. They say max bore is 4.310 so that is only a .060 over motor. It that typical of all the world product blocks except the 4.500 blocks. I thought the old MP blocks could go a lot bigger than .060 over.

So if it is a world product P5153942, according to their website, It is a 4.240 rough bore. How big do those go safely?

I don't think so I have one of the World Hemi blocks that is rough bored to around 4.494, I think. I did use one of the older Mopar replacement blocks that was 4.184 rough bore or so and it was thin after sonic testing it. I was building a street blower motor so we went to 4.250 with a 4.375 stroke crank so the customer would have room for more work if he scored a piston or cylinder later on OP, if you want large C.I. and reliability buy a better block to start with

Well according to World's website the cast iron blocks use the same casting, WOR-426 regardless of shipped bore size. The document also says they can all be bored to max of 4.60. As with any block though it should be sonic tested before machining.

What I read was that one iron block casting can be bored to 4.600, not all of them I wouldn't even consider boring one of those blocks that big without a thorough inspection including a good sonic test
