So...while cleaning out the black hole known as a "utility room" in my house, I stumbled upon a Carter Thermoquad carb...

Which is odd because I have NEVER owned a car with a TQ on it...NEVER! I have no idea where this thing came from and I can only figure that, somewhere out in the multiverse, my doppelganger has found a pristine Hemi AFB in his incredibly neat and well-organized utility room.

In any case, I took a bunch of pics...neglecting (of course)to photograph the numbers of the bloody thing so, I'm hoping that...possibly, someone here can do a sight ID on it so I know what I have. Can anyone ID this thing?

My 73 looked exactly like that some of the later models have a flat pad or even a valve on the flat pad on the front center of the top aluminum housing.

The size of the primaries determine if it is a 700 or 800 cfm series.

This is what what a 71 looks like. Notice the idle screws.

After comparing pics of a 340 carb to yours I believe it is a big block carb this is the primaries on a 340 carb.

There should be numbers on the front of the base plate corner.

The 4 digit number followed by an "S" will be stamped into the face of the rear drivers side mounting foot. The date code will also be stamped there (usually 3 digit day of year and one digit for the year)
