So I took my 68 Charger to the track today. This was not only the first time I have taken the Charger, but also the first time I have ever raced at the track.

I was on my street tires, car would not hook up at all, I had to ease it out off the line.

Anyhow, I didn't run all that well of an ET, but I think I am happy with the MPH. The car was fat at the top end beyond 4600 RPM. I kept taking fuel out of it, but by the end of the night I was still at 11.8 AFR.

Need to take more out.

Anyone want to analyze this for me?

With some sticky tires and getting that 60 ft down in the 1.8 area, I see solid mid 12`s.

I see you have a front sway bar... thats gonna hurt
your 60' times due to it not allowing the front lift
easy

Awesome!

Next time I will drop the sway bar links.

No carb on this one, I was data logging, and slowly taking fuel out of my VE map. I was being ultra conservative so as not to lean it out, but didn't get enough out at the top end.

I don't have sub frame connectors in this car, so I think that is priority one before hitting the track again. I might invest in some drag radials down the road.

The car is built to be a street machine, but I would love to get it in the low 12's (Just Cuz)

My first pass, I was lined up with a pickup that had Drags, nasty sounding engine, He ran a 12.7, but at only 105 or so. Mid track I started to catch up to him, and man that was exciting! My reaction time on that run was a .700 Oops.

Get a pair of 10in slicks and some skinnies up front and mount them on some nice light rims. You can simply swap from your street tires/rims when you're racing. Get a set of adjustable front shocks, lose the sway bar, work the tune with more laps and you'll meet your ET goal.

You can even shed some weight beyond the rims with stuff like a light battery and aluminum radiator, if you don't already have that stuff......without breaking the bank, or altering the appearance of the car.

Very nice car, by the way....

It has a ton of aluminum in it.

I weighed it at the truck stop just before going to the track.

3/4 tank of gas, and me NOT in it, the car weighed 3620. i don't know what they normally weigh.

You already have low 12 mph, just get it to hook...

Very nice charger. With that 110 mph you have mid to low 12 second power. Get some hook and bring that 60 down and be happy. I ran 12.30's @ 110 mph years ago in my 383 Dart with just SS springs and G60 McCreary's. How about a rundown on the combo if you dont mind. And good luck next time at the track. Ron
