Good idea.. I got a set bare for less than $500... Clearwater cylinder head runs them on ebay for a very good price. I have them on my 390 stroker and they are good quality castings and make decent power... These heads will make more power than any non W2 iron stock small block casting... TBF

contact CMEngines.com, they're a distributor, and the prices quoted to me were cheaper than Clearwater. earlier this year they quoted me ~$650/pr assembled with new OEM spec valves and GM3100 springs, or $850/pr assembled with SB chev +.1" valves and springs for a hydraulic roller good to .55" lift......(prices don't include shipping)

They are a real nice head for the price. I had a good experiance with Clearwater cylinder head.
I got to disagree though about the best non W2 iron head. I like the RHS and R/T better however they are both discontinued and were not huge improvements over the EQ, just a little better.

I don't know how much better the 2.02 valve is compared to stock size but I bought them bare and had to buy valves so there was no big difference in cost so I upgraded to the 2.02 size. It looks like shrouding is definately an issue to a point but I think it still flows better than the 1.92 intake as some flow bench results show..... overall, I like these heads and feel that for a not to racy street/strip combo these heads are hard to beat. I have been pondering the use of Magnum type heads from EQuest. Price wise, does the conversion come out the same as using the Edelbrock LA type heads? The Eddies cost more but I can reuse my pushrods and rocker arms/shafts. The Magnums Id buy from Clearwater are $900/pair but Id have to puy the pushrods, lifters and rocker arms to complete the conversion. Both heads I believe would require new head bolts?? Do I save any money with the heads from Clearwater when all is said and done?

The ONLY reason I'm not using a magnum style head is the cam lift restriction.... eddies for me.

I believe the lift limit is due to the valvesprings the E Quest heads come with. The head for $450/ea has a limit of .500". The cam I already have is .514" so additional springs will add more $$$ to the conversion cost.

I believe they are the the mopar 6062 springs??? They are the high lift version for magnums and they are a single spring and they are tight! TBF
