Hi, I am in the process of assembly and painting the engine in my 71 Cuda. It is a 340 4 speed with Air Conditioning.
I'm looking for pics and info on what needs to be bolted on the engine for paint, especially timing cover/water pump bolts and washers. I want to get this as close to factory as possible. I have seen that some bolts were panted and backed off to put on brackets. Any pics/info will be greatly appreciated!

Ok, you should have an orange engine assembled at the Windsor Ontario plant. Here are a few that might get you on your way. This shows all of the parts which were attached before the engines were painted. Those two straps you see with the chains connected to them are original factory engine handling straps. A few of these were left on engines (likely by mistake) and I searched around and scrounged them up so I could paint the engine leaving the appropriate bare areas that they covered small areas on the ends of the heads while the engine was painted.

There are A LOT of small unique details on these engines, date codes, part#'s, etc. The choke is stamped "75" as are the reproductions, however, the reproductions lack the second smaller stamping which is "BA 148". The choke rod is also stamped with a tiny "527". Reproductions are blank.

This is an NOS date coded Alternator belt. It's only going to see show use, I'll be putting a reproduction on for street duty.
