Hey guys,

I am looking for a starter for my brother's 1971 Demon. The engine is a 1995 Magnum 360 and the trans is a 727 out of a 1970 Duster 340. What type of starter should I be looking for? I think I have heard that some material may have to be removed from the block to clear for installation?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Just buy a mini starter for the magnum engine.

Agree a Magnum starter for say a 92 360 should work fine. Parts store new or premium reman. Sometimes there is a terminal extension that needs to be removed from the + post but no biggie.

91 up V6 or V8 will work fine. Work best if the plastic wiring adapter is removed.

I'll go way out into left field too and back you up on this one.

I just wasn't sure if the 727 would some how interfere, thanks for the help guys.

So are there companies you guys go through or just a reman starter from the local parts store?

tti or dougs headers?

I run pretty much only mini starters on everything. If you have the above headers, there is a short and long body. You need to get the short body. Usually a 318 dakota is good for a starter.

I get them on 1/2 off day at pick and pulls.

I agree, take the plastic extension off the positive post.
