Hey guys. It's time to start looking for a decent carb for the Cuda. Specs are below, but the car will see 95% street use. So looking for a street friendly carb, possibly even with a choke. Car runs too fast with no roll bar as it is, so max power isn't as important as street manners and easy tuning. If it's running 11.20s with a crappy tune and I can only run 11.50s max, I can stand to lose some power when it's tuned correctly. The current carb is what started life as a Holley 750, and was heavily modded by a local carb guy and supposedly will flow 910. Makes great power, but it seems to always run rich. Smaller jets seem to be no help. So a fresh street friendly carb seems like the ticket. Demon Carbs look tempting, but I've never messed with one. Thanks for your input.
69 Cuda. 3600 lbs with driver.
418 stroker 10.3:1 comp
Fully CNC'd Eddy Heads from Hughes.
Ported Airgap intake.
248/252 .600/.610 solid cam
Holley 750 modded to flow 910 CFM
MSD E-Curve dist with 6-AL
TTI torque stepped headers w/ Ultra Flo mufflers
3:91 727 Tight 10" converter.

My Edelbrock headed 408 went 10.06@130mph last year with a 750 holly so they are not a bad carb. Would it have gone faster with a bigger carb, I will find out this year.
1970 Duster Edelbrock headed 408 5.984@112.52 422 Indy headed small block 5.982@112.56 mph 9.42@138.27

More info on the carb is necessary... I am assuming it is a double pumper. Are you running power valves? What is you vacuum at idle/cruising? There was just a decent thread on power valve tuning a few days ago... https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...e=1#Post8080013I had a 750 on my daily driver, no choke, and that thing was spot on driving around...

The Demond carbs I've worked on had issues of not responding to the idle mixture... I have a 850 holley DP on my 416 and it loves it. quick response and makes just under 600hp on the dyno... I think you would be better off with what you have.. it'll need some minor work to lean it out... if you dont like playing with them or dont know how, take it to a chassis dyno

I changed directions... pulled the 850dp off and just finishing up installing fuel injection.. trying to move into this century.. should make more power and it'll think for itself.. this is on my street/strip Rampage
