I want to know which Brand of Trans Brake I should buy for a Small Block 727.

It is going in a Mild 340 duster bracket car.

Always heard Griner's had the quickest release. It would be top of my list. Also, likely most expensive. Not sure if they have a low band apply version. I do believe A&A's is low band apply which is always a nice feature for a street/strip car.

Steve Grinder I believe perfected the Trans Brake for the 727 904 Trans, My transmission guy said they are the best for 727 904 here is his # 765-296-2955 call after 2pm I have had mine for 5 years now zero problems.

I still run my old T/A brake... its the old non LBA
but I'm happy with it... its been said that the LBA
brake will slow the car up some.. I dont know about
this for fact because I never changed over

i have an A&A LBA brake, works extremely well, good for holeshots, never had an issue. have 2 fellow racers with Griners, both have had solenoid issues but both reckon theirs are better, i'm sticking with the A&A

I think the TCI is made by griner as it has a billet body. I also have a pro tranz, they both work great for me.

If your going to the expense of buying a trans brake for drag racing replace the front cast iron drum so you eliminate the potential grenade If you do that you don't realy need the low band apply valve body any more as a safety factor, correct? Ask Griner if his trans. brake valve body with low band apply is slower or better than his non low band apply trans. brake valve body I remember seeing posts on here by racers that had tried both LBA and non LBA valve bodys, all of the ones I remember where slower with LBA

Cope use to sell Grinners but now only sells the A&A so what does that tell you?

I have a tranzact in my turbo car. It's been flawless...

That being said... Joe is a real PAIN to get a hold of from my experiance. I haven't had to call him often on trans questions/parts purchases, but it's been difficult each time.

A&A or CRT will answer the phone/get back with you a lot quicker in my experience.
