I will start. I like 1/8 mile as it makes the racing closer and people seem to hold less.

I prefer 1/4 but it seems all tracks want to go 1/8,i could see it if track had issues down track but take a nice 1/4 track and run 1/8,i don't like it.but i'll have something for them either way this year,i always wondered why I had 2 cars or is it 3.

I have only raced 1/4 and it has been 10 years since i did that. At this point in my life, i don't really care, i just want to do it.

I've been around racing for most of my 46 years. never even saw a race run in the 1/8 mile until 1999, never raced in one until 2008, never attended an 1/8 mile only track until 2009. I would race both, but almost every big money bracket race has gone to 1/8 mile.

All I've got over here is 1/4 and I wish it was 1/8

Doors against diggers is best done in the 8th. It shrinks up the wallet factor. Best with a glide though, shifting at the stripe sucks, unless you like 8,000 in 2nd gear. At least that's my car.

It's easier for me to drive the stripe in the 1/4.

I prefer the 1/4 partly due to my age [ I'll be 70 this year ], but land values and other factors seem to favor the 1/8. Given the state of motorsports generally I'am just glad we still have places to race.

I grew up on 1/4 mile racing and now run both. For me I like 1/8 mile as it is not as hard on the car. The race is won on the starting line, cut the light, win the race, so any number even 1/16 mile would do. !/8 mile as I said saves $$$

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Done this before and still feel the same. I hate 1/8 mile. After racing 1/4 all my life I never want to run 1/8 mile. Ron

another thing this easier on parts only works if you leave it the same as you were running 1/4.start changing gears, converters to top out at 1/8 whats the difference.

I like the speed, 1/4 is better. I'll run either though. Stripe is tighter in the 1/8.

I have raced for many many years. I love 1/4 mile racing and still take my 1/8 mile numbers and convert them to 1/4 times and mph. With that said I love 1/8 mile racing . Much better on parts. Heck after the first 60' or so it's just a ride. LOL

I do both at the same time, with same car. I run 1/8 mile Pro (footbrake) and 1/4 Sportsman at Bristol. Gets really busy if I am still in both classes after 3rd round. I tell people that I run Pro for the purse and run Sportsman for the fun. (Pro pays $1200 W/$300 RU, Sportsman $200 W/$80 RU).
