I have studied a lot of pictures and cant seem to find one, did they utilize one? Were there problems due to not running one? Wouldn't it improve the electrical system if one/some were added?

Thanks in advance, Kevin

The negative battery cable has a small lead that connects to the radiator support to ground the body.

The large lead on the same cable grounds the engine.

As do most, but no other engine to chassis ground strap, interesting.

Thank you

73/74 has an additional ground strap that connects to the firewall.

The battery cable to body started in 70 , 69 down had a ground strap for the engine to firewall , no lead from the battery cable to the core support.

Maybe on Mopars, but other cars had both prior to 70 not sure when they started I just know I've seen them.

An AAR is a MOPAR , correct ???

I didn't see the question being asked pertaining to a Ford or GM product ....

You're correct John, I guess I am a lot more aware of ground straps since building a CJ, they have notoriuosly bad grounds that cause all sort of electrical gremlins.

If you paint them up and not make an effort on the grounding all makes and models will have you
In your case make sure the tail light housings are grounded well or you'll be pulling them back out also..{there was a dedicated ground strap on the left, rear tail light housing not the right}...

Anyhow, the factory obviously saw an error in their ways and added the engine strap after a year or two past 70...If it bothers you add one back there and keep the grounding point low on the firewall so you can't see it...Unless you plan on having someone with a mirror climb in there at a show and cry foul on you...

Well it is an AAR so I am sure some foul will.

If I decide to add one it would be from the back of the head to an existing bolt/screw on the firewall and I would have no problem telling some one why I did it.
