hey folks! i am in need of new tires, and am thinking the proper goodyears will make the car. it's a '70 AAR themed hemi 'vert 'cuda, and of course, my mind went to 'bigger is always better', while looking through the tire choices. i saw the L60's below the G60's (proper in the rear, E60's up front for the AAR), and it got me thinking, the more rubber the better, the ol' hemi is a brute on the tires these days.....

anyhoo, i am looking for pics, to get a guideline if they will look too 'big' on the car. i am running 275/60's on the rear now, and i know they may not be much bigger? 235/60's are up front now, which from what i gathered, is close to the F60's........

any and all opinions are welcome, and more so for some photos....

thanks in advance!

ps, here is my build thread if interested:

Here's L-60-15's on 450 steel rims on my Challenger.
They fill the rear well of an E-body just right.

I have Polyglas tires on my Road Runner and am totally happy how they drive.
Sure a radial will outhandle them but polyglas are very good for bias plys

Man that is a gorgeous Challenger! The L60 Polyglas tires look perfect! Muscle cars with radials look good, but Polyglas tires just look RIGHT.
I think I'll upsize the rears on my 71 Charger now

While we're at it, anyone have a pic of L-60's in a 14" on the rear? L-60 equals about a 265 or 275 modern?

Just so you can see what your Cuda would look like, here is an old picture of my 71 HemiCuda back in 1986 with L-60-15 Goodyear polyglas on the rear and F-60-15's on the front.
They were not in reproduction back then like they are today, but these still rode great.

Do you recall if they had any grip?

Factory stock 426 Hemi auto 4:10, and I found at the time, that they hooked as well as most anything offered from that era.

Hey Terry, I haven't seen your Challenger in quite awhile but I recall it having rubber bumpers.

Those L60's look great on there

Yes those are factory steel 450 wheels 15x7 as well as the rallyes are original 15x7's.
I bought 3 sets of NOS L-60-15's from Downer back in the late 80's and put them on all my cars.
Dave I put an original set of rubber bumpers on the Challenger in 1999 and kept them on for a few years but put the original chrome ones back on, and put the elastomerics in the rafters for now.

OK, what is a L60/15 equal to in tire height, section width, and tread width to like a 275/60/15, or whatever?
