At the first of this year I stated in a post that I would be doing a frame for my 84 RamCharger that I would move the engine crossmember up in the rails & the rails down into the crossmember resulting in a 2 3/4" drop

Technically this is my 2nd time doing this as I took a junk frame & cut it up & tacked it all together about 5 years ago or so before moving here

I didn't mount a rack but shoved a Sundance rack up there & I know a rack is possible

Some boxing of the crossmember where the oil pan sits is required & when I'm done there will be no need for problem solver bushings for the upper arms

I want to do 6" front & 8" rear drop using stock type suspension

Here's the pics of the start

Here's where it will reside

This spot will be a unique interpretation of code Nazi rules but will be a shop of sorts when finished

About a 1 1/2" slant chop would be cool. Stock height at rear. Just enough to make those who know what they are looking at look twice, or maybe 3 times to see whats wrong....couldnt pull it off on a pickup.
I have another trick up my sleeve for mine...

In my neighborhood 2" lower wouldn't be drivable. You'd be banging and scraping all the time.

Stumpy, I've already got that figured out
I've got some 2X4X3/16" angle so I figure I can cut the profile down on the frame & box it at the same time at it's lowest point

I have some oval shaped exhaust tubing to help accomplish clearance on that

Managed to get to the heart of the project today after whittling with the torch,& grinder along with the hand held sledge & ironworker's punch

Had to wirebrush where the motor mounts welded down & do all the rivets for them & the upper a arm mounts

I'll try this again

The motor mount pads & rivets had to go first then the rivet on each side hidden by the mounts & the bolts

After some hammering & using the punch

My goal for this is achieved Grind & pressure wash next

Today I unpiled the stuff off the Mustang & pushed it's bleeding self out into my drive for it's trip to my slab out back to get finished eventually

The trans bled out from a seal

Cat litter was out & cat food was full so I improvised (cat disappeared a year ago)

Her's a pic of my RamCharger backed out in the street awaiting to be pulled back up so I can pull the engine & trans back out to swap the crossmembers & cutting the frame
