Looking to see if anyone has some good input here. My car currently has Hooker 2' fenderwell headers on it. Would love to do away w/them, but don;t want to lose power & such. Has anyone here switched to Mad Dog's or TTI's?? If so what was the gain / loss on your part. Please let me know or give me ideas here. Another broken header tube put me out of action at MMW. Want to try & get away from these issues.
Thank you, Ken Michalik

No off the shelf header is built to match YOUR engine..
most are built to fit the engine/body combo... most
headers the primary length is too long and the collector
is too small in both diameter and length... its been
about 20 years or more since I bought a shelf header
and those were Hooker super comp and were decent but
not perfect for my combo so I added length to the
collector to help them

Why not Hedman Hustlers?

Trying to get away from the fenderwell exit. The Hedman is a far superior header to the Hooker. I know that for sure. Just trying to get away from that style exit.
Thanks, Ken

Which year body and style and the same on the motor and heads I have ran the Hookers, Hedmans and the early two inch Pro Parts in both the early Darts(1967 and later) and Cuda as well as Dusters with both B and RB motors, the Pro Parts won't work well in a A body with a B motor and stock type heads, they hit the starter and oil pan plus I had to squeeze one or two tubes down some Also which type motor mounts are you using On my Duster with the Hooker two inch primarys it didn't matter which motor or heads I had on them, no problems on either type motor On the Hedmans made for the Indy heads I had to raise up the low deck stroker motor with the Indy SR heads up to clear the inner fenderwells Not so on the RB motors, I used elephant ears also so raising and lowering the motor was not a big deal in that car I also bought a set of two inch Mad Dogs for a low deck and never used them, I put the stock A body exhaust manifolds back on my 383 H code 1969 dart GTS

Cab,
I have a 74 Duster w/B 400 block. But it has the Mopar Stage 6 head which raises the port a bit. I use stock spool type mounts on it as well.Like I said just want to do away w/fenderwell headers on it.
Thanks, Ken
