Well another season has come and gone and I'm happy to say this one has been a very good one for us! We started the season a bit hesitant and nervous after having engine problems last year and were taking our time taking off during the runs. The start of the season we were placing 3rd most of the time out of 8-11 trucks. Which is still solid but not exactly where we wanted to be. When we got our confidence up some more with the truck we were coming into it much quicker and the second half of the season was full of Second places and we ended the season with a win! We had no mechanical failures with the truck all season which helped with the consistent season. The problem we have is beating some of the high HP clutch trucks on the power tracks. We run a Converter trans and when the weight comes on during the run the converter can't keep a constant efficiency and we are losing tire speed which means footage at the end of the track. We ended the season 3rd overall in points but if we ran the truck hard at the start of the year i'm sure 2nd overall was ours. For next year we will be trying some new ideas on transmission set ups. Either we will just have to go with a clutch set up or maybe try a Lock up Style converter and try and get the best of both worlds from it. Here are the two runs of the last pull of the season where we won. In both these runs the engine ran to about 8700RPM. And for those who Don't know its a 650ci 5inch Bore space Goodwin Hemi:) Enjoy!! I believe Doug is still running a 727 in front of his quick change transfer.
