I have been changing mine and running the valves after 25 passes for years. Recently I have talked with other racers that change 1-2 times a year or one guy that thinks he needed to change it every outing . I can usually smell the 112 Sunoco on the dipstick after one time at the track but the oil is still clean! I race almost every Friday night all summer and put about 100 passes on a year so that amounts to 4 oil changes What do you guys do? Am I throwing good oil away after 25 passes? My bearing look good from one year to the next but I usually change them out every 3 years along with the rings. Thanks Mike

I change mine about 75 passes, but I have a 10 qt system (9 qt Milodon SS pan, a Wix filter that holds just under 1 qt, a remote filter set up and external oil line). It is not unusal for me to make 20-some passes in a weekend. With oil, filter and additive, a change cost around $75 for me, plus getting rid of 10 qts used oil.

The Super Street car I change it every 30ish passes. Always looks great but the way I see it oil is cheap and it might help me see something going on before it gets bad. On the Hot Street car with the 99 hemi we have been known to change it twice in a weekend. Occasionally if we think we need that extra .02 or .03 we will throw in the thin stuff, but thin I mean 0W5. Usually the car runs a little thicker oil in it. But it is a heads up all motor deal so ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

once a year, whether it needs it or not. Run full synthetic and a $10 oil filter. Drain oil often goes in my beater.

After every run in my TAD and it holds 18 quarts because that's what it takes to keep oil in the pan with 60 pounds of boost. Some times we would keep the oil around for a second run like the next day after it cooled. The car always got cool fresh oil to go along with new upper rod bearings for each run.
Like if we had to start the car a extra time in the pit's then the oil definitely got dumped after one run.
I raced TAD for 8 years and only started the car twice at the shop, always waited until we got to the track to start a fresh engine because of the fuel system being drained after each weekend and the cost of oil and everything else like bearings and spark plugs.
With EFI you can get 3-4 runs using methanol and boost. That's about how often we change ours'.
