I thought the whole idea of the shift-r-gate was to make early mopar shifters work like a slap stick? So I don't think one would be needed if you already had one.

That's the one I installed in my car.

Based on the number on the side of it, it's made by Duncan Motorsports.

It doesn't work exactly like a factory slapstick.

Sometime I have problems shifting from park to reverse.
It doesn't want to come out of park easily sometimes.

The gate looks like it was cut out with a plasma cutter, kinda rough edges in it so it doesn't move smoothly even with grease on it.
I knocked down the extremely rough edges with a file to smooth it some.

Definitely not as smooth as the factory shifter gate plate.

Edit: Forgot to mention, mine is a reverse manual 727.

i bought one to make my slapstik work with reverse manual valve bodies, thats how they're advertised, just wanting to know if anybody is using one.

i did the conversion & fitted the new gate. was pretty straight forward, just a little file up of the 1-2 ramp but so far it feels good. had to swap out a stronger spring on the shifter knob shaft as the old one wouldn't return to the top of the gate but that was pretty easy. can't wait to try it in battle.

as per factory

take the front plate off, thats the spring that was too weak.

find the bits you don't want, bit like gutting fish really.

say goodbye to the old gate

bolt it back together

lube it to death & you're done.
